Parallel Universes
There are only so many parallel universes that concern us. In one, time doesn’t go by like a feather in the wind. Nor do we have to do things against our will. Where kids can be kids and no one can tell us otherwise. Where you can sit on a hill and watch the sunset until the end of the world. Where there isn’t any trespassing signs for property that doesn’t belong to anyone. Where you can be young, wild, and adventurous. We can have these universes, but we must be responsible for the universe where the world isn’t constantly changing for the better. Where you can’t appreciate the little things in life. Where you can’t capture a special moment with one click. Nor can you block the less finer things in life. Where you can’t be who you want to be And put on a filter to please others.
I will praise
Today I will praise plants for growing Praise people for being The moon for reflecting Lights for shining The sun for setting And earth for rotating I will praise the feeling of freedom And the feeling of sorrow Praise buildings for looking majestic And falling apart gracefully I will praise the smell of anything great And the smell of anything foul I will praise the sights that Mother Nature gave us And sights that are man made I will praise today like there is no tomorrow
Welcome to Your Life
(A letter to your older self)
Hey, it’s me, your older self. I’ve always been envious of your carefree ways. How you do everything without giving it a second thought. However, there was always a consequence following your actions. But it was worth it, right? Let me give you a few pointers. First of all, don’t trust people too quickly, it doesn’t end very well I’ll tell you that. Be tough, don’t let anything get to you. Always be ready for the worst. That may seem a bit harsh but it’s the truth. I’m not indicating for you to grow up but rather stay young. But you’ve got to have a tough shell to get through life. Grow from your experiences, evolve as a person. It’ll come in handy, Mark my word. We watch as our young hearts fade sooner or later. Let’s hope it’s later. -your guardian angel, Tala.
