Ekphrastic Workshops & Reading at the McDonough Museum of Art

The McDonough Museum and Lit Youngstown will host two ekphrastic (art-from-art) writing workshops and a reading by workshop participants. The workshops and readings are free and open to the public, and registration is not required. Please bring a notebook, electronic device or your favorite writing tools.

The writing workshops, part of the Scribe literary collaborative, will take place at the McDonough Museum of Art, 525 Wick Ave., Saturday, March 28 from 10:00 to noon and/or Thursday, April 2 from 5:30 to 7:00, and the reading Thursday, April 9 at 6:00 to 7:00. Parking is available for $5.00 at the YSU deck or free at St. John’s Episcopal Church.

The Scribe literary collaborative is a program by the John J McDonough Museum of Art intended to foster ongoing partnerships between the visual and literary arts. Workshop will engage with the 84th Annual Juried Student Art & Design Exhibition, the annual juried exhibition of work by students enrolled in the Department of Art at YSU during the 2019-20 academic year. The artwork embraces all areas of study within the Department of Art. This exhibition is organized annually by the Student Art Association and hosted by the McDonough Museum of Art.
