She also writes plays and her most recent one was produced at the Pittsburgh New Works Festival. She’s won an Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist award and two Ragdale Fellowships. She’s currently on the millionth draft of a Young Adult novel she’s co-writing with local writer Colleen Clayton.

Colleen Clayton grew up outside Cleveland, and after graduating from Kent State, spent time as a social worker in residential treatment centers for troubled teens. At thirty-four she began writing stories and after spending many years in the rejection pile, her young adult novel WHAT HAPPENS NEXT was picked up by Little, Brown. It was a 2012 Ohioana Book Award nominee, a State Library Ohio Reads pick and received a starred Kirkus review. Currently, she is the program coordinator for The Northeast Ohio Masters of Fine Arts program and is working on a second novel with writer and friend Kelly Bancroft.
